Hotel Reservation System

Mobimex has done a project optimizing the hotel reservations. Sometimes is hard to make a hotel reservation and in many cases the Information centers could not be reached or the information they provide is not sufficient.

With the IVR Hotel Reservation System, booking a room in a hotel or hiring a holiday house is as easier as never before. People can dial a premium rate number, which pays the services itself. The telephone number is connected to a complex IVR system, which can handle 30 calls at the same time, which is more then enough even for the high season.

How does it work?

The IVR offers clients different options. The client then choose to book a hotel or a holiday house, and then choose the star rate of the hotel in which they would like to stay. The menu continues with questions concerning the number of occupants, the month of arrival and the period of staying. This information is taken by DTMF tones from the caller. When the system is ready with the details it secures a database query by connecting remotely to the Austrian Central Tourist Database. The IVR makes a connection through the ODBC driver to the remote database. While the server checks the database, the caller is requested to wait on the line for their results.

Usually the results are many, but the last 3 records from the database are taken. A prerecorded text gives the caller a chance to select one of the maximum 3 results, by pressing option 1, 2 or 3. If there are no results the IVR checks for other possible dates or advices the client to select a higher-class hotel. Once they select a hotel there are some extra options depending on their choice. The options include weather information, certain room booking or possibility for direct connection with the reception of the chosen hotel. If the customers want to connect with the hotel reception, then an outbound call from the IVR is composed to the specified Hotel reception number. Out bound calls reserve an extra channel and decrement the amount of incoming simultaneous calls. 

Database queries are substantially fast and the caller does not need to wait long. The service is generating profit from the premium number and doesn't require people to work as it is absolutely automated. The availability of hotels is updated frequently and the IVR selects and displays results from this database.

This system has been operating in Austria since 2002 and facilitates many tourists with the hotel reservation. Such IVR systems can be installed everywhere in the world. If that is not enough, you can even have premium rate numbers in Australia for example, but have the IVR hardware in Austria and it will work without any delay.
